Floods, fires and the future we’re not ready for

Date: 12 May 12:00-13:00
Location: Online via Zoom

Join us online for the launch of our 2026–31 Strategy: Just Resilience, featuring former BBC Science Editor and author David Shukman.

Climate impacts are already reshaping life in the UK, from severe flooding to extreme heat and wildfires. In The Response, David explores how Britain found itself on the frontline of the climate emergency, revealing how many of these impacts could have been reduced or avoided with better planning, clearer communication and joined‑up thinking.

At this event, we’ll introduce our new strategy and look at how we can move from reacting to crises to building resilience into the systems and places we depend on. At the centre is a simple principle: resilience must go hand in hand with fairness.

David will be joined by our CEO Jo Kerr and social and environmental action advisor Liz Gadd, bringing insight into the lived realities of communities and why climate resilience and social justice must be connected.

If you want to understand what needs to change and how we prepare for what’s ahead in a way that works for everyone – get your ticket today.
