Highland Climate Change Risk & Opportunity Assessment (HCCROA)

As a proud partner of Highland Adapts, a partnership driving transformational action for a prosperous, climate-ready Highland region, we’re delighted to announce the launch of the landmark Highland Climate Change Risk & Opportunity Assessment (HCCROA).

This region-wide, evidence-led report looks at the risks and opportunities arising as a result of climate change for Highland communities, infrastructure, economy, and natural environment through to the 2080s. It finds that threats to Highland life are real, interconnected, and accelerating. It outlines where impacts are already being felt, where they will worsen, and where coordinated, swift and concerted action from the public sector, businesses, landowners, utilities, communities and the third sector can make a real difference.

This report reinforces Verture’s new strategic commitment to just resilience, placing fairness, inclusion, and collaboration at the heart of climate adaptation. Together with Highland Adapts, we’re ready to translate these findings into transformative action for communities across the Highlands.
