Introducing our new CEO

Jo has chin length dark hair and is wearing a white top and hooped earrings. She is looking directly at the camera and smiling. Behind her is a brick wall.

As Verture (then Sniffer) marks 30 years of impact we are pleased to announce that Jo Kerr is joining us as our new CEO from December. Alison Macdonald, Sniffer’s Chair, said: “The Board is delighted to have appointed Jo as CEO of Sniffer – her energetic leadership style, innovation experience and collaborative spirit are an ideal fit for guiding Sniffer through the next phase of its strategic growth and development.”

Jo Kerr has dedicated her career to the social sector, focusing on strategy, leadership and change. Jo joins Sniffer from a role as Director of Impact & Innovation at the financial insecurity charity Turn2us, which she’s held since early 2020.

Previously, Jo was managing director of Reason Digital, Assistant Director of Digital for Breast Cancer Care and Girlguiding’s first Head of Digital Communications. Jo is a Fellow of both the Intersticia Foundation and Newspeak House — the London College of Political Technologists. She is Chair of the Board of Trajectory Theatre and a trustee of 360Giving. Jo is committed to co-producing products and programmes with people with lived experience. While at Turn2us, Jo has championed the link between people most impacted by financial insecurity and the impacts of climate change.

Jo said: “I can’t wait to join Sniffer at this time. I’m excited to be part of working towards our shared vision for a flourishing and fairer future for all in a changing climate.”

Sniffer’s outgoing Managing Director Ruth Wolstenholme said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Jo as Sniffer’s new CEO. Jo brings fresh insights and experience that I’m confident will bring about a step change in Sniffer’s goal of creating a future where everyone, in every place can thrive as our climate changes.”
