Place-Based Strategy Development Workshops

Are you passionate about shaping the future of your community or sector? Are you experiencing climate impacts now, or worried about them for the future?

Join us at a Place-Based Strategy Workshop!

Verture is developing a new five-year strategy (2026-31). Join us for one of our collaborative Place-Based Strategy Workshops. Bringing together diverse voices from across Scotland, we will co-create practical, people-centred strategies for a fairer, more resilient future.

📍 Wednesday 30 July, 2pm in Dundee

📍 Further in-person session in Glasgow, date tbc

💻 Thursday 31 July, 6pm online

💻 Wednesday 13 August, 6pm online

Here’s what to expect:

⏲️ Time commitment: The sessions will run for 90 minutes online and two hours in person and will involve a mix of presentations and interactive group sessions.

👐 Open and Inclusive Atmosphere: We’re keen to hear from people with a wide range of perspectives – whether you’re in a particular place or community – especially those often excluded from mainstream strategy processes. That includes disabled people, black and brown people, and people in rural or island areas.

💪 Realistic and action-focused: Each session is designed to be practical and achievable, focusing on what we can do together right now and in the near future to build more climate resilient communities and places.

💸 Accessibility and wellbeing: Refreshment would be provided during the workshop and travel expenses reimbursed for individuals and anyone representing a community group. Information on the content of the sessions will be sent out in advance. If there’s more we can do to make the sessions accessible to you, let us know!

🤝 Who should attend? We want to hear from a wide range of people:

– Community members and leaders

– Representatives from voluntary, public, and private sectors

– People with lived experience of disability, migration, or rural life

– Anyone interested in building a more inclusive, climate-resilient Scotland

🗣️ Why join us? Help set priorities for place-based action in your area or sector. Tell us what’s working, what isn’t, and what you hope to see in the future. Meet others who care about making a difference and learn from their experiences.
