Climate Live event

Climate Live event

Climate Live was a pavilion specifically dedicated to the intersection of climate and culture – perfect for Creative Climate Futures. There were a number of key talking points under discussion:

Creativity, heritage, and traditional knowledge are integral to climate action. This is what we are working to save. How can we integrate cultural indicators into National Adaptation Plans?

We need to be talking about abundance, not scarcity. We have everything we need, just not spread equally. Scarcity is a colonial mindset. In the face of the challenge, we have three choices – fundamentalism, nihilism, or activism.

COP is a catalyst, not a one time deal. We have to build momentum from one year to the next.

I asked a question about how we frame climate action, against the backdrop of a cost of living crisis. I was delighted that the panel seemed so engaged with the issues, and their upbeat response to how we tackle the challenges we face.
