Highland Adapts
Bringing communities, businesses, land managers, and the public sector together to facilitate transformational action towards a prosperous, climate-ready Highland.
Skye from Raasay

About the project

Founded in 2021, Highland Adapts connects together communities, businesses, land managers, and the public sector to help bring about transformational action towards a prosperous, climate-ready Highland region.

Highland Adapts is guided by a set of shared guiding principles, which prioritises climate and social justice, evidence-based action, and inclusivity. The partnership’s objectives include developing a strong knowledge and evidence base and identifying shared opportunities to reduce and overcome these climate risks.

Verture is one of the nine organisations that govern Highland Adapts. Currently, Verture also hosts Highland Adapts which involves overseeing the partnership’s budget and employing Highland Adapts’ staff.
