Climate Ready Leaders
Climate Ready Leaders are people working at the intersection of social, environmental and economic justice. We understand we are already living with the consequences of climate change, that this affects every single person in Scotland, but that climate impacts are felt most by those already most marginalised in society. We are passionate about being part of positive change towards a resilient and fair future. Together we work to address the root causes of climate vulnerability and impacts, through both incremental and transformative change.

You decide whether you’re a Climate Ready Leader. We recognise leaders sit at all levels of hierarchy within, and outside, organisations. We are a mix of specialists, freelancers, and CEOs/directors. There are already over 40 of us and that number is growing. We are not sector specific. We currently come from different parts of civil society (charities, funders,
academia, non-departmental public bodies) and are open to welcoming those from other sectors, including purpose driven businesses.

Sign up to join the network and you will be invited to attend in-person gatherings, plus additional online conversations. The power of this group is in growing awareness, breaking down silos, developing ideas, inspiring action and supporting each other through transformational change.

Climate Ready Leaders started in early 2025 as an informal gathering in Edinburgh. The group has a Scottish focus, but leaders from further afield are welcome to join. The network is supported by Jo Kerr from Verture and Julie Christie from Environmental Funders Network.

In 2025, our first three meet ups focused on structured conversation over food, this will continue while we experiment with other formats.

In January we offered an online discussion on the popular science book Sink or Swim with author Susannah Fisher. We’re taking an agile, open learning approach,  and will review our progress in April 2026 and plan forward for the year ahead.

3. We encourage extra offers of support, either to host an event in a particular location, or longer term.
4. Suggest others who would be a great fit for the network and connect with our CEO Jo Kerr

You can step away at any time and we’ll take you off our mailing list.
